Sirs
I just received a promotional email to upgrade from 12 to 13 for Evolution (around $55) and X5 Pro (around $180). As I am not in a position to pay for the Pro, here is my question.
I have been using PRO on two websites (www.karazwlaimoon.com) and (www.jmliban.com). What would happen if I purchase the lower cost Evolution? What are the features I will lose and would Evolution be able to open the websites developed in earlier versions of Pro.
Many thanks
Akram

Hello Akram
There is really not much difference between the Evolution and the PRO.
You can see the diference in the manual. The things that is only in the PRO-version is marked for this.
You will not be able to open or convert PRO versions in/to the Evolution.
I think in most cases it will also be the best to start from "scratch". As you have the material ( text and images and you know the structure ) it should not take long to use it in the new version.
You should also think of that the update-protection will be much lower when using the Evolution.
The main disadvantage of evo is that you don't open any projects made in prof version. The rest is less important in simple projects.
quite expensive the upgrade for such an old version
I suppose you consider to jump on the newest X5 version 16 - PRO or Evolution.
You could also wait to a new ver. 17 where there will probably be a introduction price for both PRO and Evolution.
It could be cheaper to buy a new version with discount than to "upgrade" - but maybe INCOMEDIA could give you a good offer.
Normally it is not possible to "upgrade" to old versions ( from 12 to 13 ) - is it an offer you received from INCOMEDIA?
Hi Akram,
generally speaking, you can find here a comparison between the versions: https://www.websitex5.com/en/pricing.php#detail_compare
However, please consider you won't be able to import your Professional projects into an Evolution.
Thanks! Kind regards,
Elisa
Hello Akram
Now also Elisa tells it is not possible to import PRO versions in Evolution - so now 3 ( three ) different persons has told you this. I hope it is made clear
BUT - if you don't need any of the functions that is only in the PRO then you should consider the Evolution.
It is not much work when you have the material, and the "conversion" made by X5 often causes trouble. You have only 2 projects in PRO, so it should be manageable to do it by "hand".
