After I updated my software, I completed a new blog. When I uploaded it, I noticed that the links within the blog do not go to the linked site. Instead, I simply see this [link:1]link[]/link:1. Why is this happening, and how do I fix it? Here is a link to the blog: http://stossbooks.com/blog/index.php?11-14----covenants-part-iii--the-dead-sea---the-biology-of-fallen-man

Stephen, what are you linking to? A page on your site? A label on a page on your site? A page on a different site? A pop-up note (tooltip)?

Can we assume you simply highlighted the text you wished to link, clicked the link icon and selected the appropriate option?

If the blog entry looks correct in preview, please do a ctrl+preview to refresh the site and then do a FULL upload (not new and changed).

I am linking to a page on a different site. The blog does not look correct on preview, but since it is html, I thought it would look correct upon upload. Instead I get the link tags. I've never had this problem before ... only after this update.

Stephen, it sounds like you are doing exactly as I have done in the example above, sadly I cannot reproduce the problem in 2019.3. Assuming this PC has been restarted since the issue occurred, have you tried creating a new blog entry, highlighting a word and applying the link then doing a preview?

ie does the problem affect only this blog entry or all new blog entries?

Thank you, Stefano. I would appreciate any updates.

Are you also aware that the entire formating menu in the text editor has become buggy since the lastest software update (2019.3.9 -- 64 bit). For example, after selecting text, hitting will toggle the text through through italics and bold, even though you are hitting the "B" button.

Stephen, I also reported the problem with the Bold/Italic buttons in the Blog not working correctly: https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pl/post/218515

Hello Stephen

I  can confirm that an update is available for testing which addresses your issue with links, should you be part of the BETA program.

You can read more about it here in case you are not and wish to join:

http://beta.websitex5.com/

If you have the chance to test it out, please leave me a feedback here

Could you also provide more details on this other issue you found? I tried highlighting text and clicking on the B button but I correctly get the Bold only and no Italic

@Nigel

I've attempted to reproduce what you reported about the B and I functions in the Blog in the other topic unsuccessfully. After that, the moderator proposed a series of tests to better try and identify the problem

Please continue the topic there as to keep each issue carefully separated.

Thank you

Stefano
