Hello Tom,
Yes, you can do that in the Language Content Management screen... Step 1 Settings > General... click on the icon to the far right of the Content Language field.
In the new screen which opens either use the search box at the top, or scroll down until you find the variable 'cart_add' - change the text on the right to whatever you like, then close the windows and reupload your site to the server.
