Hello,

Are there any plans to improve the SEO of Website X5?

I have asked many question on this subject previously, but still not really got anywhere - basically i think the software is great, but SEO really lets it down, if pages are not found and listed correctly, it's no point having great looking pages etc.

I find the SEO setting confusing and unclear, even in the tutorials, i don't get google listing properly, and have followed all advise.

When i look at other systems, for example YOAST on Wordpress, this is what i want to see in X5 - Analyse Website.

Thanks

@ P.S.

SEO is mostly on how you present the content of your pages: PAGE TITLES, the site's COPY (texts), ALT/TITLE tags on images... - this is 98% of the SEO - and there is no software in the world that will do this for you!

From the time I made websites with Macromedia's Dreamweaver (yes, a long time ago) - my pages were at the top 10 of Google Search...and SEO was done 100% manually then. So, when constructing the website - be aware of the content - the text is extremely important (keyword density), links to other sites, optimized images and other content (loading speed) etc. etc.

Hello Sinisa B.

Thank you for your comments.

I do get that - but, in X5 it is very unclear which settings are doing what (exactly). What i want to be a able to do, is have the software check for best practices, use of keyword, show snipets and how results will look in search results, upload sitemaps to other search engines from the software, analyse the robots file - this is why i mentioned YOAST, it offers suggestions to improve what you have done based on Google requirments. (as do Wix, Weebly, and Squarespace i.e. they clearly show which settings effect what).

This tool has been download over 100 million times - so i am thinking that there is a need for it.

Whenever i have asked these questions, users explain what should be done using technical terms (which i appreciate), but i thought the point of this software was for non-developers, i want the software to help me get it right.

Thanks

OK - I get it - but I won't be holding much hope that this will be implemented any time soon.

Maybe it would help (for now) - before the site's export to server - to check THE PROJECT analysis. (missing keywords, description...) Fixing this would improve SEO for sure.

There are many SEO analyzers on the web that will help you achieve better rankings with X5.... X5 does a great job of giving you the options of setting the parameters you need to set your way (page url, description, keywords, etc) - you now need to follow best practice guidlines when you create and edit pages - and results will not be instant; it takes google and others some time to normalize your site analysis against your competitors. Oh and avoid duplicate content, make sure you have a server ssl or use cloudflare, and make sure site is mobile responsive.

BUT #1 is content!! (we have an old site that hasn't been upgraded yet.... it is html1, has no ssl and is not mobile responsive and yet it still ranks well... because the content is unique, the TLD domain matches the primary keyword, the landing page urls contain the main keyword, etc..... wait till we update it with X5 upload!)

Hello Adrian,

Thankyou for your comments. I do agree with everything you have said, but my point really is that X5 may give you options for setting various things, but it does not make it clear what these are and how they are used.

Primary keyword, meta descriptions, title tag, page tags etc. Just no explantion of how to setup correctly, to get the best results.

I am sure i could spend all day reading online advice about SEO, but when i have looked at other software, it seems presented much clearer, i.e "Page Description - Enter text here that will appear in search results as a snipet", "Title - Enter a title that will appear in search results next to the website name".

The software that this was taken from, then audits the use of keywords, content and structure and presents it in a simple to understand way, action can then be taken and re-tested, without actually publishing.

Thats what i would like to see built in to X5.

Thanks.

Good afternoon

I've taken the liberty of turning this topic into an Idea.

From what I understand, you wish to see the different SEO options being better explained in the software, in order to point you in the right direction as to how to configure them properly.

SEO is a very vast argument, so I see how this might not always be easy, even more so considering how it is ever evolving. It could get really complex to explain how each option works, how it should be filled in and similar matters in the interface of the software, but I will notify the developers of this anyway

Should you wish to add anything to this, please do so here

Thank you

Stefano

Hello Stefano,

This is correct, i would like to see the terminology used in the settings to be clear and descriptions to show what each setting will actually do.

But, i know it's a big subject and a lot of work, it would be really good to include SEO in the project analysis - so that the the user can improve the use of keywords, robots file, tags and descriptions (similar to the online tools available, but built in).

I personally see this as a great feature, as you said it's a big subject, but if the key things could be automated by X5 you would know you had the done main steps correctly - if the user wanted to go further, then they have the option to read and spend lots of time tweaking things.

Regards
