Automatic user registration internal error

Before 2020.3.4 update my automatic user registration was working. Now when a new user tries to register it displays this "Internal error." without any error code. The current registered users can still log-in and forgot password feature still works. It is only the registration that has this issue.
I have already tried reuploading all the files overwriting the old ones without any success.
The test admin website shows that everything is ok.

Can it be that new users try to register without an email adres as login?
older users can use there login name, but later versions are changed into the use of the email adres as login.

No I tested it myself with an email address. That is how I got the screenshot.
Is php version of your host up to date? best is to use php 7.1

Yes my host php version is 7.1. Previous version also needed 7.1 and it worked
strange, do you have a website adres?
