If I make any text a link to another page, the text is black and can't be changed. For me it's a big problem because my background is black, consequently the text disappears from view, but the area is still an active link, just can’t see it unless I change the background color. Regardless, can’t change the links text color.

(It > En) ... in an HTML-enabled Text Object with the [</>] button, paste this string of code, and so you will understand:
<a href="https://www.google.it/" style="font-size:22px;text-decoration:none;color:red" title="GOOGLE" alt="GOOGLE" >GOOGLE</a>

George, if all page backgrounds are the same colour you can set the link colour globally for all pages, go to step 2, Text Field and button style.
However, if you only wish to change the link colour on specific pages, then use the code as provided by KolAsim.

Thank you both for your help. I have different color backgrounds, I'll have to use the first suggestion. But isn't this a bug in the software?

Some itresting results. Using the link below it works, but if I change the font to Roboto Condensed the color can't be changed.

More, of four web pages. I changed the "footer" in the Template Content, but only two of four pages showed the change? Shouldn't that change all the footers?
