Png not importing or publishing smoothly  en

I am attempting to place our logo (PNG w/transparent background) file in the header and sticky bar, but results are poor with rough edges and almost a shadow effect.  The file is clean and looks very smooth with other apps, but X5 has a pixelated edge.  I have also selected the best display option without improvement.

Is this something known to be a problem?

How is the standard picture size set?

Hi Andre,

My image optimization is already set as the example you attached.

I have also noticed that the PNG import looks fine when the image is black and white.  Color PNG's seem to cause the issue on my pages.

Can you add the picture itself?

Yes, thanks.

I have tried exporting the PNG many times with various resolutions and settings.  It always looks poorly in X5 but clean in every other program I attempt.  attached is one of the logo files.

It should not have that weird embossed appearance.  Usually my PNG logos look very smooth with my old way of html building.

This is my first attempt at using X5 so I must be doing something wrong.

Just my opinion:-

I think the problem is caused by the bad choice of background colour (transparent) of the logo. The logo looks very good when placed in a text box or picture object on the page but there is still a little evidence of an outline. When the image is placed in the header the outline is more obvious. There are 72 colours in this logo, 70 of them are various shades between green and black (feathering) and these appear as an outline when on a white background.

If the green text was on a white or near white background set as transparent I do not believe the effect would be visible. (the existing logo looks very sharp when placed on a black header background)

(It > En)  ...!...the image is too large (1772x141)! ... ...so it will be resampled if not used in its native measures...
... in these cases it would be better to use an HTML Code Object with the image ATTACHED to the same object (in the default folder "files")  and with the TAG <IMG>, so it would not lose its original characteristics with any measure; for example, for a rational free/elastic ratio, just glue this string:
<img src = "files/LFR-1.png" width = "100%">
...
... since the logo is simple, one could also make use of the SVG vector format, maximum definition and lossless in any resolution ...

.

Thanks to all that are responding.

1. I am attempting to place this in a header and also a stickybar.

2. Per suggestion, during logo export to PNG, I adjusted the background color and resolution, but still having some issues.

3. even with a native resolution PNG of about 500pix, it still appears resampled. I'm trying to learn a little more about the HTML code object idea since it seems complex at the moment.

thanks again

www.lasersforresearch.com (using jpg for site now, but would like to move to png for transparency benefits)

update:

I have no clue what I did differently this time, but the png file appears to display properly now.

Thanks for all the ideas.  Hopefully I can duplicate the success moving forward.

... you used a different image from the original (1772x141)!, with measure (450x36 and without resizing in the program...wink
