Lou if you provide a link to your site we can provide a better guesstimate, but based on your description it sounds like something in front of the menu

Select the menu and see if you can select bring to front.

Thank you for your reply. My website is working ok because it was published with and onder version. I'm not game to publish it with the new version as I would have two "dead' menu buttons, so I can't send you a link to the faulty buttons. (this is my website as it is now... www.tankwaterlevel.com)

I'll try what you suggested later tonight and let you know what happens!

Lou, if that fixes it - great!!

Your existing website has "issues" at less than desktop resolution (and the problems could possibly be related), if these issues persist after upgrade please let us know in case we can help.

PS I am in your time zone (Vic)

Tried your suggestion but made no difference :(

I have attached a picture showing the difference between the published site done with an older vesion and a preview in wSx 2021.2.3

Failing a 'fix' is there any way I can get the old version of WSx so I can add some info to my website and publish it with all menu buttons working?

Thank you for your help.

I originally created this website years ago with with Vesion 8 I think! I've been upgrading through all the vesions since then and with every new version I seem to loose something or somethig gets altered! Eg. the writing on the sign board on the header was originally Text somewhere along the line it got changed to graphics! I can live with that for the moment. I do all my work on a desktop so unfortunately though it looks good on my screen it looks bad on mobile phones....... not sure how to fix ATM :(

Lou, in preview you can emulate each resolution, but in your browser you can simply make the web browser window narrower to emulate tablet and mobile.

The conversion from an old version to a recent new version captures everything in the header as an image. To bring your site into the future you should perhaps place a title object over the old title image and recreate it as real text. When satisified, remove the old title image.

Similarly the current menu object does not support the button styles of old. If it was me I would delete the old menu object and then create a new one. Sadly the current functionality of the menu buttons is not as flamboyant as the old.

It appears from your screen shot that the menu button graphics no longer fit within the allocated space. If you do not wish to replace the buttons with the new "spartan" appearance, you could try making the sidebar wider (step 2 template structure) and then making the menu object wider (and longer?) to accomodate your buttons (step 2 template content, sidebar)

A painful process either way.

Sounds like I'm doomed unless I can roll back to the earlier version! :(

I'm getting a bit too old for 'mid-night to dawn' programming :)

They should give you an option of trying the new upgrades before you commit to upgrade.

For what I'm doing I don't really need any 'bells & whistles', for my purpose the older versions of WSx was better than than the top heavy versions of today, still I suppose one can't live in the past even if it got the job done for me.

Lou, in what version did it work correctly?

Thru your profile (top right) you can download previous versions and they will coexist. As long as you allowed WX5 to create a copy as a backup of have an iwzip created from the earlier version you can go back.

But your site still needs work to display correctly on phone and tablet.

Thank you for your help Esahc ..

I'm not sure which version I used last on the published site so I'll download the last couple of versions and see if I can fic it for now. Eventually I'll have to bite the bullet and redisign to look better on all devices.

All this will have to wait until after Easter but I will let you know my progress :)

If all else fails, what's the going rate for a website builder these days and are you interested?

Hi Esahc

Just to let you know I spent most of the day on this but no joy. I downloaded many previous versions of Wx but none matched up with my puplished website. I tried playing aroundwith the Menu Buttons but cannot get the top two and a 'half' to work. Moving them around I discovered that no buttons or links placed above a certain line/area would work! (They work ok on my publised site) I'm stumped :(   (see attached photo )

Good news! I solved the problem. I deleted the "invisible" background on the Header and all worked OK.

Thank you for your help.
