I've deleted photos whilst editing the website, but find that they're still in the gallery when the site is published. Not visible but bearing in mind I've deleted around 1k pics it is taking space.
Any ideas of solution without having to start from scratch?

Hello. Unfortunately, this is a known situation. Try exporting your project with these settings and then importing it. After that, delete all site files from the hosting and re-upload it. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, I don't have this option, so can't see if it will work,
On checking as the website has gone through several variations trying to get it just right there are currently 5,000 images stored that are no longer on the actual site. Needless to say, they are taking up a huge amount of space and each time something is altered or replaced this space is just increasing.
So I have to start again and at the same time I thunk start looking for an alternative program that does have 'known issues' that can be as site breaking as this.
I sent a notification about your question to the company employees, expect an answer from them here in the comments.
Hi, there! I have the same problem. After ungrading to the current version of X5 from v13 I overhauled my homepage entirely. I removed few hundreds of photes form the site but would also like to remove them from "gallery" also to gain some space.
Good afternoon
I apologize but it is unclear to me whether these images remain in the project on the local machine or on the server
If the issue is that images remain on the server, it is to be considered correct as the software will never delete content from your hosting automatically. You need to clear your hosting manually.
If you're talking about the local copy of the software, you can try deleting the Preview and Upload folder in your project folder and see if the issue is solved.
Deleting the backup copies of the project can also help sometimes since the software will store information on material belonging to older backups, thus occupying more space
Verify all of this and keep me posted here
Thank you
Stefano
Thank you, Stefano! I did delete my entire old HP which I had created with x5 version 13 from the hosting server. Then I uploaded the new HP I had overhauled using x5 current version. When I checked the files on the host server I noticed that the space used did not differ from before. Therefore I guessed that the pictures and some videos I which I had removed under step 4 in x5 (about 25% of the total number of pictures of my old HP) could still be saved in the gallery folder.
I will try your advice concerning the preview and upload folder
Best wishes

Thanks for the reply, Stefano.
It was the local copy that was the issue as I clear the server before fresh upload.
Did follow your advice and it didn't seem to solve the problem, so did some experimentation and discovered then when to send the site to local disk (so you can upload later) it doesnt get rid of files already deleted in the program just leaves them there, so you have to delete the content of the destination directory prior to saving the project.
Hope this helps
Thanks
