The latest version of Website x5 2021,3,3 doesn't allow me to change the database settings. Since I no longer need a database for one of my projects I want to remove my settings. The program also reports a lack of db connection, so I can't upload it to the server.

With change to the latest version 2021.3.3 it is not possible to change the database settings. The fields cannot be overwritten. But this is necessary, because without database access the whole website can not be updated. This would have to be corrected urgently. Where can this be registered? Or is there another access to this setting?
Mit Umstellung auf die neueste Version 2021.3.3 ist es nicht möglich die Datenbankeinstellungen zu ändern. Die Felder sind nicht überschreibbar. Dies ist aber nötig, da ohne Datenbankzugang die gesamte Webseite nicht aktualisiert werden kann. Das müsste wohl dringend korrigiert werden. Wo kann man dies anmelden? Oder gibt es einen anderen Zugang zu dieser Einstellung?
You install the previous version of WebsiteX5 and try there whether the access data can be deleted under "1 Settings" under "Data management". To do this, however, you need a project that was also saved with this old version or an iwzip file that you have hopefully created with the old version. You can find the installation file of the old version in the profile menu at the top right of this page under download.

I'm sorry, but that is no good answer! Please tell the programmers to turn on the possibillity to edit the database settings!

A withdrawal of this change is probably not to be expected. This leaves only the procedure described above.

The attached screenshot shows that the programmers intention is that it should be possible to edit the database settings. Then it was monday morning and he had a terrible hangover....
So please, let the programmers know that it must be done!

Because of this, the database connections parameters will still be displayed until the project is uploaded online for the first time.".
I also had this situation.But after the first upload of the site to the hosting, these settings became available and I was able to enter the data I needed to connect to the database.

If you already have entered the correct database settings, it would be possible to make this first upload. BUT if the settings are incorrect you can either upload or correct. That's the dilemma! I have tryed to correct the settings directly in the file D:\Documents\Incomedia\WebSite X5 - Pro\Project name\Upload\res\x5settings.php. But that didn't work...

If for any reason you've inserted the wrong credentials to the Database or perhaps the Database is no longer available, you can proceed in two ways:
1_ Open an older copy of the project in the previous version and remove the Database
2_ Remove the Database from the project. I will do so for you, so if you want to proceed this way, let me know here. I will turn the topic private first

If I edit the database credentials directly in "x5settings.php" at the web host, then everything works fine. I want to be able to do that same thing in website x5. Otherwise it is not possible to use the program to edit and update my website. So please make an update of the program that makes it possible to edit the database settings!

the problem is actually very serious because it no longer allows the site to be updated.

Considering the urgency of a solution and waiting for updates that fix the bug, I temporarily solved the problem in this way: I export the site to a local disk and then from the disk I upload it to the server via FileZilla ftp client.

Update protection needs to provide fixes and new features.
the latest version is a restrictive version
fully not normal !!!! we have paid for a pro version with pro options ! and now we have a single option to manage our dbs

Changing the data on the final file is not advisable, since you would be solving the issue temporarily only.
I would like to repeat what I mentioned before. You can proceed in two ways:
1_ Open an older copy of the project in the previous version and remove the Database
2_ Remove the Database from the project. I will do so for you, so if you want to proceed this way, let me know here. I will turn the topic private first
Keep in mind that this can only happen when exporting a project from an older version to the v2021.3. and until the first export has been done. This won't be a problem for future exports of the same project

just a note, if you don't have an older version of the project / program your method cannot be used; however, since, ultimately, the problem is caused by the decision to delete the database setup form, it seems to me more useful to correct this defect.

Yes, to be clear: to make it impossible to edit the database settings is a bug, a defect. It has to be corrected. NOW!
Hi there, I am experiencing te same issue and I can´t fix it properly...there´s no sene it does ot allow mee remove the databse based on my setup options..Iam stuck due a silly thing not covered by application. There´s no sense what is happening...even trying to edit the "x5settings.php" it does not solve my issue...we have an option to remove it and them update the data on host automactly as we were able to do before...even clicking on IGNORE button it does not allow mw update my data..this situation is unacceptable!!
I deleted my database from host and it still asking for something that I DO NOT WANT to use anymore. HOW I CAN REMOVE IT FROM MY INCOMMEDIA X5 PRO???????????????????
Do you have any idea about how much problem you caused to me and my site with this ??? You should provide us a fix or a way to go through this issue ASAP, once independent of problems with DB we MUST to have a way to disconsider any configuration, override and update OUR sites using the application.

Please, looking forward and waiting for a usefull and quick solution that will not cost or cause more costs than the current prejudice, I'd like to receive a real fix to handle it...actually WE lked to receive it (I´m not alone on this), and receive something better instead those absurds proposed regarding previous versions. I really appreciate to receive a functiomal solution of this trouble to avoid more losses and legal issues, once I paid for this software and its functionalities and right now I an't able to use it to do my uploads/updates.

As indicated in my post above, this change has been done for security reasons. If due to a series of circumstances, you should find yourself unable to correct the situation on your own, we will do it for you
Open your own Private topic and send the project there. I will remove the Database personally from your project so that you can keep on exporting your project without issues
Again, keep in mind that this is in no way a bug, but a security measure to make sure that no data is loss during the upgrade to the new Database system

the old version allowed to manage the list of databases by entering the database name, host, username or also to remove them; the new version no longer allows you to modify these parameters but keeps the old, wrong ones in memory, and does not even allow you to delete them: last but not least, if the obsolete and incorrect database is not found, as is obvious, during the export phase, the export is blocked! and all this for security reasons? Please specify this thing better so maybe we can understand.

by importing the project created with EVO in the PRO version, is the database management accessible by the user, or remains encrypted?

Once you move an Evo project to the Pro one, you will get the exact same options as a project coming directly from Pro. So you can link a single Database to it
For the other issue instead, I confirm what has been said before:
You can proceed in two ways:

If you wish to edit your Database data because your older Database has become unreachable, please proceed like this
