Menu overlapping side bar  en

I am trouble fitting my menu into the template. See https://www.bcorchestra.org.uk/index.html

You will see that the pale background to the menu overlaps the space reserved for it on the template. If I try a transparent background, the menu seeems fine but the page background shows through. Please see attached screen shot.

I would be most grateful for thoughts.

in step 2-template select template content and then sidebar. there you change the size and, if necessary, the position of the menu object so that it fits into the sidebar.

Thanks Franz-Joseph

That is not the problem. My problem is at step 2 template structure. Looking at the color in graphic properties for the side bar... If I choose transpartent, the background graphic shows through. If I choose white, that gives a solid background for the menu but overlaps the template graphic to the left. Please see attached.

I suppose I may need to edit the template but grateful for more advice first.

Thanks Klaus,

I attach a screenshot of the template. Is that what you were asking about?

Yes.

Your approach is too complicated and a little laborious to teach you how to work correctly. Only that much:
You shouldn't (!) fill the entire page background with a single image. Use 3 separate images for the header background, the page background and the footer background. So you are much more flexible in the design of your site.

But if you really want to work with a single background image for the entire page, you should definitely remove the white area on the left and replace it with something like this:

Hi Duncan,

I fear I don't get exactly what you are willing to achieve, do you possibly have a link or a screenshot of an example?

Thanks! Kind regards.

Hi Duncan,

the screenshots you posted are referred to the effect you currently have: but unfortunately I don't get what you would like to achieve instead.

Do you mean this part should be transparent instead?

Thanks! Kind regards.

Thanks Elisa.

What I am trying to avoid is the white background overlapping the left hand edge of the template.

If I make the left bar transparent, the background shows through. I can move the menu but not the left bar.

Maybe what I want to achieve just isn't possible. I can live with that but it would be nicer if I can achieve the look I wanted and, presumably, what the template was originally designed to do.

Hi Duncan,

I confirm the best solution would be to simply change template.

You please need to open a new project with the template you want to use instead of the existing one (it can also be Blank 3 for instance), then please export the iwtpl file on Step 2 > Settings export/import > Export this Template settings.

Then please open your project and import the iwtpl file on Step 2 > Settings export/import > Import a new Template settings

Thanks! Kind regards.
