I setup a shipping type "Cost relared to total weight and defined the various weight and cost brackets. I also addedd weight to eah product.
On check-out, the shipping cost remains zero.

If weight set is at 0,085 then you won't come above 5 and you will get 0 for shipping.
raise wait on product to 10.0 and check again.
everything below 5 will be 0 in your table.
remeber the weight is just a number it does not need to be the actual weight it's just a number to create the shipping on. if you use all in kilo it will work but if you set it everywhere as gram's or any other weight or non weight number it wil still calculate the shipping according to total chosen by customer.
