I cannot see any local files or folder in the image selector in version 2022.2.4  en

The field below the search window in the "File Selection" is empty and the search function seems to not work. How shall I add pictures to my library?

Lasse, if you used the CTRL + open file manager, please try without CTRL

The problem does not occur in File Manager but when I click on the folder symbol in "Image object" page and end up on the “File Selection” page. On this page, no folders appear in the field below the search box, and I fail to get the search function to work.

Lasse, I am not sure I understand sorry. When you click on file browse, how long have you waited?

Are these folders and files local on your PC, in the cloud or in an external device?

I tried adding an image object to a page, opened it and clicked

I can navigate to any folder inside any other folder.

Even though I know there is a bug in the file view pane when attaching an image or other object to a text link, since you are using the image object please try CTRL+file browser

The folders are on my computer on internal disks and the import of images has not been complicated in previous versions. The screen says, "No items match your search". Nothing seems to happen at all in a ten-minute period on the File Selection page, but I know that I have a lot of pictures and image folders on my computer, organized into folder structures.

Hello Lasse

In order to better understand the issue, would it be possible for you to attach here a screenshot of the entire File Selection Windows when you see this message?

I'm sure this could help me better understand the problem

I remain available here

Now I tried to transfer the project to another computer and there it turned out to work so the problem is probably on my computer. Now I must find the reason why the computers behave differently. Can you have any tips even though it is obviously not your software that is causing the problem but any setting on my other computer?

Hi, always start the software as administrator (right click on the software icon and choose: "run as administrator"), create exceptions related to Website X5 in your antivirus and firewall (if you use Avast Antivirus it is almost certainly the one the problem, in some cases it is useless to create exceptions because the problem will still be present, I even had to delete the Avast firewall and use another one).

Lasse, please follow Giuseppe's advise, but if this too fails can you confirm that you are pointing at the correct default folder

And can you confirm that your default folder is not being synchronised/mirrored or managed by onedrive or similar? (Microsoft has a bad habit if randomly changing the file system. One day documents is a child of users\yourname, the next it is a child of users\yourname\onedrive - this can wreak havoc)

I have tried the above to no result. One thing I'm wondering about is whether the connection between WebSite and virus protection/firewall has been modified in any way in the last update since image management worked in previous versions.

Hello Lasse

I would like to investigate the issue further together with you, if that's okay.

If you open up the File Selection window, then click on Free Images and back to Local ones, does anything appear on the left under the search Bar?

And in this screenshot specifically that you sent, what happens if you double-click on Desktop?

Please verify this for me and keep me posted here

Thank you

Stefano

Hello Stefano,

When I open up the File Selection window and then clicking on Free Images and back to Local ones nothing appears on the left under the search Bar. (The free and premium pctures appears as expected.)

Nothing happens when I double-click on Desktop.

Regards

Lasse

Lasse, it is unlikely, but can you temporarily turn off ALL virus protection and firwall, reboot and try WX5 again?

After checking please turn virus protection and firewall on again and reboot.

I've tried all the steps in previous posts without making it work. When I try the program installed on the home computer that is mostly configured in the same way as the one in the office, it works great. I am thinking about whether something has gone wrong during the installation of the program and whether I should reinstall it. Would this solve my problems?

Hello Lasse

You can definitely try this, it can't hurt.

See if it helps this way, alternatively, we might consider suggesting a full Windows restore to see if perhaps something in the system itself is causing the interference

Now it works again! I reinstalled WebSite X5 and after that the images are where they should be so something seems to have gone wrong with the previous update. Thank you all for all the support and many good instructions.

Lasse
