The Guide says that in the Management section of Parameters that settings are required for:
1. Host Name
2. Datebase Name
3. User Name and Password
4. Server folder with write access
However that section only seems to ask for the entry of number 4 and 3 seem to have been already entered in the FTP section. Where are 1 and 2 to be entered?
My attempts to publish/ update my website have so far been unsuccessful. My host says that the DNS have not been set to point at my package with them.

Your query is a little confusing. Can you take a screenshot please?

I have been trying to follow the instructions in an article from the Guide entitled
"How to export your website using a Hosting service differefrom the one included with WebSite X5"
The section on providing parameter values reads as follows:
If you compare the instructions in the last paragraph with Data Management panel in my screen shots you find that there is only a provision for the entry of the last of these four items. How do you enter the other three?
Colin
I have found that the parameters for export are included in my provider‘s contract information. If in doubt, I would contact their customer service and ask them what you have to enter in each box.
I don’t know why our settings page(s) look different. (See attached)
FTP is an old & insecure method of transfer. Please check if your hosting provider uses SFTP or FTPS for secure transfers.
Hopefully, someone else here will know why your settings page is missing fields.
Good luck.
Hello Colin
In your case, you cannot insert the Database data because you're using Evo. The Evo version of the software offers no Database functionality and for this reason, you won't be required to fill those out.
About the error you're getting instead, could you let me know what error that is so that I might provide further insight on the matter?
Thank you
Stefano

Since the article I refer to is for the assistance of your customers like me using other hosting services it is clearly in error to have mentioned the need to enter these "missing fields".
Whatever, the error message I get is "Unable to connect to server. Please contect your internet provider that you have the correct connection information"
i have contacted my host whose initial response has been a rather puzzling " your site is not currently pointing or using us" I have sent them screen shots of the information required and am awaiting further information.
Colin
I would just ignore sections that don’t apply to your version.
Does your project require a MySQL database? If not, then again, I wouldn’t worry about the extra information Colin.
Regardless, none of the above should affect the upload of your project. But if your project depends on features that are not available in your version, then I guess that they simply would not work after uploading.
I suspect that your host settings need to be double-checked. The FTP/SFTP address does not require ‘http://’ ‘https://’ ‘ftp://’ or alike. In the server url, just use ‘[myhosting.server]’ (replace [myhosting.server] with the information provided by your hosting provider).

Thank you Andy, as you suggested there was a problem with the host settings. I am published at last but i am having issues with getting a contact form working.

Good morning, Colin.
Debugging email issues are a little more involving. And, I would start by checking the configuration in ‘FTP & DB connection parameters’. If email settings look correct here, then next go to https://example.com/admin > ‘Website Test’. Verify that PHP is 7.1 <-> 8.0 and everything has a ‘PASS’. Then use the form at the bottom to test mailing. I do not know which script will be correct for you, but I can tell you that I use SMTP.
Lets us know how it goes please?

I have not got as far as debugging. A check word has appeared as the last field in the form although I did not specify it. To send the form it seems that it is mandatory to supply the check word yet it does not appear in the list of fields so there is no way I can delete it or modify it. I think I will delete the form and start again.

Deletion and specifying a new form had no effect.
When using the mail function, you must enter your own mail address, but many web hosts only allow your own domain mail addresses.
Example:
Domain: example.org
Mail address: contact(at)example.org (the (at) should be the @)
I would not be using project forms at this stage, Colin.
Were you able to login to your.site/admin and view the website test page? Do you see the email test at the bottom on the page? Can you sceenshot this for me plz?

It seems that my problem was that I activated Captcha. I did not associate that with the mystery "check word" field that appeared in my contact form.
Thank you for your comments. I am going away for a few days and will keep them in mind when I return.
Colin
I’m happy to hear that you have found the Captcha option.
If you are still having problems sending emails, then please go to /admin for testing.
Let us know if you still have problems on your return?
Thanks.
