Forms over multiple pages  en

I had created a form for collecting social media & messenger account information from linked visitors. Because I do not (yet) have the skills to make fields magically appear after data is entered into a previous line (via drop-down box) the form ended up being very long, and unappealing.

I have now broken the form down into 3 pages, using the confirmation page option to move forward. The pages look so much better, and less overwhelming.

Ideally, I would like to store data collected in pages 1 & 2 to a file, which is then picked-up on page 3 and sent to the DB as a whole (single entry). But I fear that again, this would be a little too involving for me at this stage.

As it is currently configured, data is sent to the DB after each and every page. This simple method could work for now. But it could get messy quickly if 2 or more users are using the form(s) at the same time.

I guess the easiest way forward is to somehow link the 3 pages with a unique session id, which can then be sent and tied together in the DB. But I have no idea where to start with this, or what to search for more information.

Any ideas, tools, or direction would be greatly appreciated.

This looks precisely what I need! And, if I can make it work (which it doesn’t look too difficult) would make you, Franz-Josef, a legend.

Thank you ever-so much.

That is what I like to see; WX5 one step ahead of me! :o) Thank you KolAsim.

I’m knee-deep in PHP code at the moment, looking for the references mentioned in the article above. I feel the need to break something lol.

Although, the idea of including social icons on the form in the very presentable way Image Form provides is attractive.

Many thanks, KolAsim.

Hey Andy.
From what I understand, you don't want the post form to be cumbersome on a website page. If this is the case, then this can easily be done in the settings of the mail form itself. You can separate the various fillable forms and they will appear one at a time, as I show in the screenshots.

And you can also send this data to the database hosting.

Dmitry, thank you! So, that’s what ‘Display in a new frame’ does! This makes life a lot easier (not as pretty, but easier) for sure.

I will mark your reply as the answer in the morning.

Many thanks for your time.
