First, make sure you installed the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable.
Ron, if simply starting X5 causes it to crash, then please uninstall WX5 and go to your profile (top right this page), select download and do a clean install. You will find your license key/s there if required.
On the other hand, if you are opening a project and it initially opens and then crashes, could you ensure there are absolutely no empty cells anywhere on any page. If there are, place any object into each empty cell or group of cells (I use the text object but I do not add content).

If simply opening a project causes the crash, can you open WX5 and create a new project. Did that open and remain stable for editing?
