Image object, seo settings, caption  en

Hi!

If I type some information in the 'Caption' box (Image object - SEO - Caption) where this text will/should appear?

If I type something in here, I cannot see anything when I am checking my page in preview. I have added 'Title' in general settings (Image object) and it appers on mouseover. But when I add Caption as well, I can see no difference at all.

Is it OK this way? Is it worth adding 'Title' and 'Caption' as well if the text in 'Caption' doesn't come up?

Cheers

Hello Axel,

Thanks for givig me hand with this.

Actually, I have checked the user guide as well (WSX5 Pro., the latest version) but there isn't much written about it:

--

6.5.3 The 'SEO' section
You can use the controls in this section to specify additional information about the Image, which are used to complete the Site's SiteMap, which is automatically created by WebSite X5 (see Automatically create a SiteMap in SEO | General). Specifically, you can configure the following parameters:

Title: (optional parameter) you can give the image a title.
Caption: (optional parameter) you can give the image a caption or a brief description.
Geographical position (e.g. Address, Town, etc): ....

--

So that's all.

If anybody can help me sort this out pls. write a comment. The questions I'd like to get answers to:

1) In the Image Object, within the SEO tab, what's the purpose of the content of the Caption box? Should it appear anywhere on webpage, or is it exclusively for search engines?

2) If it is only for SEO purposes, then does it make any sense to give a 'Title' in Image Object in General tab, and at the sem time, to give a 'Title' and 'Caption' for the same image within the 'SEO' tab? I mean, isn't it going to overoptimize the SEO resulting in weaker rankings in google?

Thanks in advance!

I.
