Dear Website creator & support,

I bought the Business Template Hi! Im Joe.

I updated the text in the main Homepage page but only the dark layout site is updated. When I clock on Light the standard text from the initial template will appear.

Something wrong with the template? I don't want to maintain for dark and light twice.

Thank you for any help.

best regards

Joe

This template simply used 2 sides, one side with a light background and dark writing and another side with a dark background and light writing. That's why you have to edit 2 sides.

Visitors could also install a browser addon (e.g. Firefox addon "Dark Reader") and then view all websites in dark mode if they so choose.

Maybe the moderators or javascript experts have an idea or code to set up a light/dark switch without having to create and maintain 2 pages.

Then you have to drag the object further to the left. These templates are only sample projects as it could be and not 1:1 suitable for the network! You have to decide for yourself what you want to keep, change or add.

Andreas your answer is a bit... strange. Thinking in this way, you can say that I can create my own application and I don't need WSX5 for it. As I have already written, it is a paid template and it should be done properly, especially it "represents" the "template" section and is a kind of showcase or show the possibilities of the proposed software. By your logic, a seller of nails, for example, might tell a customer who has a crooked nail "that he can straighten it himself".

o stay with your example of the nails....

If the customer buys a bag full of nails and 3 of them are crooked and he wants the seller to straighten them. If the seller has just no hammer ready and also does not want to damage anything, then he explains at most the customer how he straightens the nails himself!

Andreas, unfortunately, this logic also is wrong...

First of all, just admitting that a product has flaws and is still being sold is pretty ridiculous.

"...seller has just no hammer ready and also does not want to damage anything..."

Your metaphor is completely fallacious and logically flawed. You're telling me the creator has not "hammer"? How am I supposed to understand it? That he doesn't know programming in general, or that he can't move the object in the footer (which in fact is a common oversight among Users), or that he shows negligence when creating a template?

The dentist tells the patient "Here are the pliers, please pull out the tooth yourself, because I don't want to make a mistake and pull out the wrong one". Is that what you want to tell me through your metaphor?

Since we seem to have a completely different logic, it does not matter, because I could again give an example of a dentist!

This "template" is about a sample of how your website could be and not how it should actually look like. If the object in the footer does not do what it should, then I delete it and add another or replace it. Because the OBjects that have been inserted in this template are for illustration purposes only. Because the TEmplate alone without objects look like nothing.

Andreas, you're basically trying to defend something that is indefensible. However, you are a Moderator and I don't blame you for that. But we are slowly getting closer to the truth...

"This "template" is about a sample of how your website could be and not how it should actually look like..., this template are for illustration purposes only..."

What does it mean?
If we want to show something to another person and somehow give a "sample" of the quality of the thing we sell, we want to show it from the best side. Do you agree with me?

Last month I refreshed my CC license. When you launch Illustrator, for example, you are greeted by a window with a "sample of the possibilities" of this software.

Can you imagine Adobe following your logic? So they would say that the image below is just an illustration purposes only, and you are to set it up yourself "to make it look nice", but now pay ~ £600/year for subscription.

Of course they give you the tools and what you do with them is up to you. But Incomedia, like Adobe, is a software company, and should take the utmost care in PROMOTING its products.

"Because the TEmplate alone without objects look like nothing."

Exactly! So that is why you should pay attention to "secondary elements", such as optional objects. Because as you rightly noticed, the "bare" template itself is nothing.

We don't want to exaggerate completely in this comparison!

Adobe annual proceeds 15.7 billion /  Incomedia  ca. 1 Mio.

Adobe Employee 10000  / certainly below 100

Adobe Update only Illustrator£ 600,00   /  WSX5 completely£ 85,81

...by the way

I'm afraid you've missed the point of our discussion my friend...

BTW

~ £600 is for full Creative Cloud, not only for Illustrator.

Unfortunately, I could not get an answer for my issue. CSS/ templates like this buyable template kit I would expect only to maintain 1 page content i.e. content is separated. to maintain 2 page does not make any sense

The sample template is one which I had to buy. Any errors should be fixed.

You bought a convertible from a car dealership and now you're wondering why you have to stop in the rain and get out to close the top?

Perhaps you should have checked whether there is also a motor for the automatic closing of the convertible top.

But since the template is designed for a resume and it's rarely lengthy, copying text and pasting images twice shouldn't be a problem.

Hi there,

the template simply offers two different versions of the same project: users can select the version they prefer (dark or light) and delete the unnecessary pages. If, on the other hand, you wish to keep both, you need to apply the changes to both pages.

Thanks! Kind regards.

Dear Elisa. Thank you for that clarification. Unfortunately, the template i.e. one main page ("homepage") with sub-pages/layer? does not offer any blank page with samel layout. How can I easily create a new page with same dark or light layout (backgroun color, font,...). I've copied the main page and deleted everything which is time consuming. i.e. I need a impressum page

best regards

Joe

Hi Joe,

when a new page is generated, it is automatically blank with no style or design applied other than the settings defined for the template structure, header/footer. If you then need to replicate the style of an existing page (light or dark design), you need to proceed just like you are describing, namely by duplicating an existing page and editing the contents to get the wished result.

Thanks! Kind regards.
