Products Changing When Added To Cart  en

Hi,

I have an issue with my website.

I have had this issue before and the solve was to delete the detected problem products and then recreate them fresh. That worked, but I have detected more issues and don't know how widespread the issue is within my site, so would like to try to get a proper fix.

I will use two products that have this issue in this example.

The issue is when I for to my section "Chip Elastic Bracelets" and scroll to add a citrine bracelet to my cart, it is fine. Then when I add a clear quartz bracelet as well, rather than one of each showing in my cart there will be 2 of the clear quartz bracelets there and 0 citrine. If I add another citrine, there will be 3 citrine in my cart and 0 clear quartz.

So far I have detected 7 other chip elastic bracelets that act this way, either as a pair, or in one case 3 adding incorrectly.

This is also occurring for at least 8 items in my crystal healing kits section as well.

It will be a long process to go through every category to search for other problems as the only way to detect them is to add one of each item from each category and then go to the cart to see if any have a qty of 2 and then track down the items not working properly.

I am operating on the most recent version of the software and it is up to date.

One thing I considered was a website upload where rather than uploading only modified files, I select "Upload All Files To The Internet"

I am hesitant to do this as I am sure a long time ago, this meant that the product photos were uploaded from where the were originally linked from on my hard drive. Over the last 10 years or so, I have moved the products photos all around into newly named folders etc. I am reasonably sure that this has since changed so would like confirmation of this so I don't find myself having to relink hundreds of imaged that are in new locations.

Hello Martin,
I would suggest creating a user with access to the shop and provide the credentials, so that it is possible to access the shop without registering, and checking the behavior of the website.

Hello Martin,
I was indeed able to reproduce the behavior with the products you have mentioned.
If you can provide me with a copy of the project, I can investigate directly and make some export tests.
You can export it in Step 5 - Export, choosing the Export the project option to generate an IWZIP file.
You can then upload the file with WeTransfer.com or similar services, and provide a download link at sales @ incomedia.eu (without the spaces).

When I was testing for these errors, the easiest way to clear my cart was to just place a fake order.

I did this 4 times, however only one order came through, so please check for any issues there as well.

As a side question, is there a button I can add to clear the cart on my website?

unfortunately this option is not available, you would need to add some custom code for that.
I have encountered the same issue even in preview mode, I will investigate and get back to you as soon as possible.

Thanks for that.

Currently I have not been updating my website

The reason for this is in case you send me back an exported version of the IWZIP to work from with changes having been made to resiolve the problem.

So I don't want to remove sold out products from my version of the website, if the replacement file obviously won't have these changes incorporated.

If you could clarify if this is likely to happen or not.

If not I will go ahead and make the edits, otherwise I will wait for a reply. :)

Hello Martin,
it seems that the software is incorrectly generating the same code for some of the products, leading to the issue.
We are working on fixing this, and usually the common practice is that the fix is released in an update of the software, rather than making a change to the project itself, so that it cannot occur again for other users.
I will update you as soon as possible.

No problems, so I am ok to go and make changes to the website, including deleting and replacing the products that I have identified as causing the errors, as well as deleting and adding new products?
