Jpeg converted to png when published.why?  en

I have photo galleries on my website.So, i optimized all the jpegs in photoshop.But when i published/exported my website, the final gallery folder gone above 50mb which was strange so when i checked i found that website x5 converted all my optimized jpeg into png of big sizes with ofcourse thumbnails as well.

So is there any workaround or do i need to optimize the final converted png files in gallery folder ?? How do you guys go about it ??

Please if someone reply as soon as possible.Iam in little hurry.Gallaries are taking so much download time.Please help.

Hello Abhay!

What kid of gallery are you using? Did you add any effects to your images? What effects? Could you please kindly give me your website URL?

If you use the ''Opacity'' effect for example, it is normal that the images becomes .png because it has to become transparent.
Please give me all the info and I will try to help.
