Transfering from one computer to another.  en

I have transfered my web site from one computer to another using the correct method ( I hope ) the "Export the project" button. Everything transfered ok except the footer of the website. In the Edit Template graphics tab the Header is ok but the footer is just showing a grey box where the footer picture should be. Nothing on the footer page is live so I cannot make another footer for the site.

Whats gone wrong?

John

Both Pc´s have the same version of X5 and both are updated.  9. 1,6. 1952. This shows when I start the program on my new computer, is it the latest version?

Hi John,

Yes, 9.1.6.1952 is the latest version. If click on your avatar (top right), you will find your personal download section and can see the latest version.

Regards,
Theresia

John,

If the lanquage is also the same then i don't know. Do you use a custom template or a preset ? If preset then it could be a copy / install problem with the files of the template you have chosen. (reinstall) if it's custom then you should be able to restore your footer in the custom template settings. (if not then why not, what's missing ?)

The footer was in another template . I copied it and brought it to the file where I kept my other j.pegs for the website.

It worked ok on my old computer with Win XP. Now I have Win 7 , 64bit. . X5 is looking in a non excistent file location for the footer even though I brought it to the same location as the others.

The real problem is that the Footer page is "dead" . I cant go looking for it in its new location.

My old computer still works so I can use that for the website until I remake the site on my new one.

Thanks and if I sort it out I will let you know.

Hello John,

you can copy the footer jpg form the old computer and add this file in a folder on the new computer. Once you have it on the new computer open the project in WebSite X5 and change the path of the footer image with the new one.

Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

Thanks Claudio but Ive tried that. The problem is that the Footer page on the new computer is dead. Its all greyed out. I cannot put the footer to another folder as the footer page wont respond.I went back to the old computer and put the footer into another folder on there. Then transfered it over and it is still dead.

Im going to try and duplicate the site on the old computer over the weekend , and then try and move it to the new computer. See what happens then. I will let you know.

Thanks for your answers and help.

John
