Cannot connect to server -- FTPS or SFTP

I have enter my FTP setting from my server and I get a message "cannot connect to server" Protocol not available -- then a warning ! by the port assignment 22. My server says I have to us port 22 and that the problem may they use secure FTPs or SFTP - So far I have not found a way to indicate this from the software Export to Internet ? I was able to upload my website work using Filzilla, but I want to use the built in FTP if at all possible. What do I need to do, or is this only a feature available in Evolution? I am using Website 5X Compact -- thanks

I have shut down all of my security -- firewall and then antivirus -- and I tried turning on and off the Pasive FTP button, and still I am being told to check with my server for proper protocol ??
I contact my server and everything is right and up to date -- ? My server says they have to have SFTP or FTPS, which is secure upload protocol -- so, Does Website 5X compact support this or not? I can get my site to upload by using Filzilla FTP software, but this is like buying a Rolls Royce and being told the radio doesn't work but that's okay I can just use my portable radio -- any solutions?

Unfortunately the Compact Version doesn't support the FTPS or SFTP protocol for the upload.
This feature is only present in the Evolution Version.

j'ai le meme problème, je ne peux me connecter avec mon ftp passif sur certains sites et pas d'autres avez vous ce type de problème ce la se passe depuis la mise à jour du 08.03.2013 bizarre....avez vous des solutions....

Thanks, this aswers my question completely and while not a solution it prevents me from using Websit 5x with my server so I guess I am glad I had not put anymore work into this project as it is all for nothing. I must have missed this limitation in the the instructions? Thanks for the response, Claudio D. it is much appreciated -- I really like the way this software works, but it looks like I will have to stay with my ewisoft web builder -- Thanks, again, Dan

I did try FileZilla and it worked, my webhosting server accepted it. But using this third party software lose any of the enhancements of the software? I know my present webbuilder is the same and I have to use FileZilla, but certain features are lost because things reading and downloading 'comment' from my web pages cannot happen because this software cannot connect to my Web host. So, does Website 5x compact have to have an open line to my webhost server in order for certain operations to function properly? Thanks, Dan
Hello Dan,
It is not necessary to have an open line to the server. The most is done offline and once you want to update the website you export the changes and then the webiste doesn't needs to be connected to the program. All will work like it would be exported directly form the program.
