X5 previews seem much slower and before you ask I have a dell studio XPS desk top with I7 processor, I terrabyte raid drive and oodles of ram

Strange... I have a Dell as yours is and the previews are almost Instantaneous.
. . . some antivirus are making some problems (like NortonIS, Avira, Kaspersky Suite) . . .
