Is it possible to create templates from scratch. If I use the custom template I can only use the same basic template. is there a way of starting with a completely blank sheet to build a new template?

I really don't understand why some have to be so smug and rude.

A civil person would have said yes and then directed me to the appropriate source.

BTW thank you

 . . . sorry if you think that i am not a civil person . . .

But: using *search* for *template* you will find 98 *answers* in english - and a *civil user* should be able to have a look before opening a new post . . .

It would be nice if people would read posts before attempting to answer

http://answers.websitex5.com/post/1816 is a wonderful article but like Pcssa it does not answer my question.

I know I use the custom template, but I can only use one custom template. I cannot change the template. I can only change basic information such as size and colour of a set number of page sections. I wish to add another page section to a custom template. I want to add left and/or right sections to wrap all the other section in colour/graphics but not the total page as in the Tee X5 Store demo. See the red sections of the attachment. The above link does not show this.

PS... I do not want to start a flaming match here so please only reasonable people who want to really assist me reply. Otherwise I would prefer that no-one answer.

Hey guys, calm down! Smile

I'm afraid your question wasn't very clear Barry, I will tell you what you can change in your template:

  • you can set a different background (just like the Tee X5 Store).
What you have signed in red in the picture, is your background image, so if you wish to change that, you need to change your backgorund image. You can read more about this herehttp://answers.websitex5.com/post/4449
  • if you wish to change your page content background image, you need to add a new image in the ''page content background for this page'' in  Step 2 - Sitemap Creation - Page/Level properties icon - graphic Section.
  • in the same section you can also choose if you wish to create the page without the template you have chosen for your project and keep only the images you have added here.
  • if you wish to have a completely new and different template with a different menu/different all toghether, you can export your first project and create a folder that you could call ''second template'' (for example) then start a new project, create your template and export it in the ''second template'' file. Then you can link the pages from one project to another.

Create yourself a HTML object in the header or footer and position it with CSS so you can you create a div in the background. Alternatively, you can also do it under the properties page if you want to do it differently on each side.

For I am assuming that you want to show something in this area.
Just as I have done here in version 8.
