Hello Peter,

top.jpg (or top.png) is the Header portion of the Graphic Template used in WebSite X5.  It can be edited directly within the program in Step 1 General Settings > Edit Graphic Template > Header tab

Once uploaded to your server you will find the header image located in the 'style' sub-folder, within your X5 project root folder.

unfortunately that does not really help. I find the mentioned file in the preview folder and in my backup file. But when I overwrite them i do not get it within the program. I only can see it in the preview. Editing in the general Settings does not work because I have to edit the background graphic itself and this is not possible there. I have to do this in a separate program which I did some time before. But I dont know anymore how to find the correct place where the top.jpg file is stored.

The following instructions relate to custom templates.  If you're using one of the preset templates then you can 'convert' it to a custom template by creating a 'Duplicate' in the 'Template selection' screen in Step 1 (the 'Duplicate' button is on the right-hand side)

Having created the custom template click the 'Edit' button whilst still in the 'Template selection' screen (the 'Edit' button is also on the right-hand side).  In the new screen which opens select 'Header' from the 'Page section' drop-down menu.  Then right-click on the 'Image File' field under 'Graphic Properties'  -  finally select 'Open file location' from the pop-up menu.

Sorry but this answer still does not help.I have modified one of the templates long ago. I even dont know any more which template it was. Changed colours changed graphical layout items and more. So what I see in the preview in the backup and in the homepage folder style is the modified top and bottom files. What I want to do is modifie the gaphics again but I cant find the File which then should be used wihin the program. Can you tell me where the files are stored or how i can the files modifiy from inside the program

Hello Peter,

Try to go in step 1 and then in case you use an existing template, click on duplicate and then doubleclick on the new created copy. Once done you will entere in the template editor and if you use the rightclick function on the Top image you will be able to save it on the desktop so you can modifiy the file. Once done you will need to add in the template the new modified file by importing it in the template editor.

Please feel free to write back if you need more information.

How is it possible to export am template from and import a Template into the editor. I only know how to im or export a projekt, but this does not help because this does not enable me to modify the template

Hello Peter,

If you select a template and then you click on "Duplicate" it will create a copy of the template in the custom templates list and then if you doublick on it the template editor will open where you can modify it and also save the images used with the right click function. Once you edited the images, then you need to import them back in the template editor.
