I cannot get the search engine to work on my site www.miac.org.uk but it works properly on my other sites www.acs1951.org.uk and a sub-site at www.miac.org.uk/class67.
The sites (all on the same server) are using PHP 5.4 and I have also deleted the whole of the contents on the server and reloaded it all from scratch.
I am using the latest update of X5 V10
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi Andrew, firstly congratulations for the contents of your sites, and regard your question, me, as usual user of website x5, can suggest you just to visit the following post:

meanwhile someone with more experience can give the solution to the problem.
All the best.
Hello Andrew,
Please open the project in the program and then press CTRL key while you open the preview. Once done export the complete project again online and then test the search engine again to see if then it works.
Please keep me updated.

Thanks Claudio and I have tried holding the CTRL key down whilst opening the home page preview. The home page came up after a long time so then I reloaded the whole site but the search engine still does no do any more than come up with "Search Results". Any other suggestions please? Andrew.

Now here is an interesting thing. I have just duplicated the project and then deleted most of the duplicate and uploaded the rest to www.miac.org.ouk/testriw/ and the search engine works correctly on this sub-site. I will now create another duplicate of the full site;delete the original items from the server and upload the duplicate instead to see if that works. Andrew

Follwing the logic that the search engine at www.miac.org.uk/test6/index.html correctly searched site www.miac.org.uk I figured that if I overwrote the files and folders in www.miac.org.uk with those in www/miac.org.uk/test6/ it ought to work properly.
I used my FTP program to look for all the likely files that might be causing the problem. I have overwritten all of the contents of folders "menu" "pcs" "Res" and "style" as well as index.html index.css version.xml and sitemap.xml on the main site with the versions that worked in the /test6/ folder. The result is that the site search engine now works for the whole site.
I guess something in one of the files that got overwritten was preventing the search engine working at www.miac.org.uk from working. So for the time being at least the problem is resolved. Hopefully it will continue to work when I next make a change to the site. Any thoughts as to which file is was if it happens again? Andrew
Hello Andrew,
Probably one or more files was not updated correctly. It is not possible to say which one but usually a complete export should replace all files and then it should work correctly. You can also delete the whole content online and then export all so all files are correctly exported.
Keep me updated if it should happen again.
Many thanks!
