Shopping Cart for Digital Downloads

Can the shopping cart be used for digital downloads - for example, of PDFs?
I woud be grateful for advice on that. The big problem is that the current legislation means, as I understand it, that different rates of VAT have to be charged depending on the country of download.
Grateful for any assistance.

you can not do digital downloads with the shopping, you can use an alternative called ecwid if you google it, this allows you sell digital downloads, with multiple payment methods

Hello Duncan,
About the legislation unfortunately I cannot help you because you need to verify what are the exact requirements and where you want to sell. The online shop made with WebSite X5 is not meant to sell digital downloads since once the order has been made and paid you need still to send the files manually.
About the VAT the program can only use the VAT you entered and doesn't change according to the country of the buyer.
