Hi,

I have just upgraded to V11 and want to make use of the Guestbook widget; my knowledge is fairly limited on creating MySql database and linking it to the Myguestbook in X5. Has any body got a basic step by step proceedure? i have looked on the forums etc and cant see anything. I am using JustHost as the service.

Many thanks

For the guestbook you dont need an sqql database link.

Just create the guestbook on any page, fill in the fields that era requered.

Then upload. this should be it.

If you have questions about some settings, press the F1 key in x5 to acces the help inside x5.

If you still run into problems let me/us know.

BR André

Thanks for your Help Andre E I have worked out the post and the admin to approve. now how do you get it to display on your page. It recognises that a comment has been made and rated but the text is not displayed?

Is it something to do with the folder?

If you have the option set show only after approval  (view mode) in the x5 guestbook then you need to go to your admin panel, login and approve the comment, after that it will be visible.

If you have set it to show immadiatly, it should be visible directly.

Check the blog and press F5 maybe you only need to refresh memory to see the comment.

If not give me/us a website adres so we can take a look

 Hi

I have worked everything out except the website folder on the actual display, can this box be defaulted to the website or hidden.

Many thanks

Glyn,

If I understand you correct you mean the websiteadress that can be filled in in the guestbook itself on internet?

This is default on and can't be set to hidden.

The folder in x5, you can leave it blank, data will then be set in your route of your website or call it dataguestbk or something similar to get the data of your guestbook in it's own folder.

Hope this helps.
