Restore from version 10 professional  en

I have a project which I built in v10 professional and is still on my hard drive. I have the backup files, library, preview and upload files and the project.iwprj file in the root directory.

But I no longer have v10 professional installed on my PC. I have version 11 and version 12 but neither of these seem to be able to open the old project.

So I cannot open the old project in v10 to export it and thus import it into (preferably) v12.

Grateful for suggestions.

Go to Download her (profil), find v10pro, install v10 (show lizenz for the key) and make the export to iwzip.

Thank you. I have downloaded version 10 and that is running.

I have found the project.wprj file - but how can I open that in version 10?

The new version 10 that I have just installed does not have a project it so I cannot open a current project and it will not import a wprj file.

Grateful for further advice.

Duncan,

For import you need the .iwzip file. If you don't have it then you need to have the iwprj file in a folder and in that folder there needs to be the other folders for the project.

If you have that then set the preference map/folder to the folder where the iwprj file is in, so not inside the folder but just the folder it's in, I think in your case it's the root c:\  or another drive. But better is it to set the iwprj file in a folder (like v10project) and set all the folders of the project to that folder.

you will get v10folder and inside that folder the iwprj file and the rest of the files (metadata.xml and so on, and the folders library, preview, upload and some more.)

Preference location in V10 is set on the first start up screen (Preferences)

If set correctly and all the files in there then your project can be selected

Hope this helps !

Best Regards, André

Thanks André

But I can't get that to work. Whatever I try to do it tries to get me to start a new project.

Even if I right click on the iwprj file - it won't open the file in version 10 but opens version 11 even though I have version 10 and 12 installed.

Grateful for any further advice.

I have now loaded the project folder into the program folder and I see the icon. If I select that and select next, the project starts to open but I get the following error message..

I have tried deleting versions.xml and the who Preview folder but it does not help.

Grateful for any advice.

It looks, like the project is not complete, do you have the original file / and also all the other files of the folder that the original file is in, and also the other folders that are attached to the folder where your project is in. Check a project from v11 or v12, and see how that folder is build up with files and folders to that project. In v10 it should be the same folders and files. Else you will keep on having errors. You now have it at least in a folder and the folder is correctly seen by x5. Now you need to get all the assosiated files from that project also in there (not only the iwprj file) i hope it makes sence. best way is to look at a project that is working to see what files you need.
