Slideshow does not play background music in preview mode

I have slideshow albums on my website. Recently I added background music to each of them and updated the website. They are all working nicely when viewed online. Then I discovered that in preview mode, all the slideshows are silent. I tried to run the slideshow in the "preview" folder under "users/me/incomedia/Website X5 v11-evolution/", and I get the same result--no music.
Please let me know where could I go wrong? Does installation of other media device interfere with any of the settings?
Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Hello Felix,
What file format is the background music for the slideshow in?
The preview browser in WebSite X5 is based on a slimmed-down, lightweight version of Chrome (called Chromium) which does not natively support many media formats. It may be that you have to install the necessary media plugin within the preview browser as appropriate.
Alternatively, you can also make use of the option to preview your website in any other browser already installed on your computer. To do this use the icon located in the top right corner of the WebSite X5 preview browser, as circled in the screenshot attached to the next post.
Kind regards,
Paul

Good morning Paul,
Thank you for your answer. However, I could not find that icon for alternate browser on the internal browser of my WebsiteX5 preview. Please see the snapshot attached. I still get no music when I preview the slideshow album.
Out of curiosity, I downloaded the html file of the album page from the server and compared it with the copy in the preview folder of my WebsiteX5 project.
I found this attribute statement [ 'music': 'gallery/GuQin.mp3',] on the server copy, within the <script></script> section. Whereas on the local copy, there is no such statement. I edited the page substituting another mp3 music clip, saved the page and updated my website. The same problem persisted: When viewed on line in either Chrome, Opera or Firefox, the slideshow went on as expected playing the new background music, BUT NO SOUND IN PREVIEW MODE. Checking the preview copy of the album page, I found no music attribute there.
I am quite happy that my website shows up as expected when viewed online, but would expect the preview feature of WebsiteX5 to play background music. I hope I have given you sufficient details to trouble shoot the problem.
Thank you

On closer inspection the option to preview on another browser is a feature exclusive to the Professional edition only... please compare the help files to see what I mean:
http://help.websitex5.com/en/v11/evo/index.html?browser.htm (Evolution)
http://help.websitex5.com/en/v11/pro/index.html?browser.htm (Professional)
MP3 files will not play by default in the preview browser as WebSite X5's built-in player supports FLV and MP4 files only.
It is strongly recommended that you use only MP4 format for a web project in any event, for maximum compatibility with end user browsers and devices. Even if you install a plugin in the WebSite X5 preview browser (or your own browser), you cannot be sure that visitors to your site will have the same plugin installed on their own systems.
Please see the WebSite X5 help file for a full explanation of file formats and their compatibilty:
http://help.websitex5.com/en/v11/evo/index.html?ogg_video.htm
To increase support for various media files in the preview browser you can install additional plugins. If you wish to do so then please download the following ZIP file:
http://files.websitex5.com/answers_topic_files/extensions/Extensions.zip
Extract the contents which are two files as follows:
np-mswmp.dll
NPSWF32_11_5_502_110.dll
Move these two files into the 'Extensions' folder of your WebSite X5 installation, which is normally located via the following path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\WebSite X5 v11 Evolution\Extensions
NB: please ensure WebSite X5 is closed before moving the files...
Restart WebSite X5 and check playback of the media files in the preview browser.
