Program crashes very often
Autor: Ruud Roefs-WijnenI am working with X5 V13, version 13.0.3.22 (64 bit) on a new computer with Windows 10, latest version. I did not miss one update.
The program keeps on crashing every 5 minutes. I am creating a new website. And up till now it exists of approx. 120 pages. And the project is not ready yet.
The bigger the website gets, the slower the program is. The crashes started a few days ago on the pages with 10 columns and a lot of rows. Which I was moving around a lot, because of some other problems I have and to find my best layout. https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/165890 and https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/166048
Everytime when I wanted to check/change the order of the cells in the responsive part the program crashed. I left these pages alone (because both problems are not solved yet) and wanted to work on another part of the project. Adding new pages. But the problem occurs again.
Every time when I add a new page, and then try to save the project, it takes up to 2 minutes before it gets to 98 or 99%. And then it stops. The only way to get out of it, is via the task manager. Sometimes, when I get lucky, it saves the project. And I can go on with one page. But as soon as I want to add a new one, the program crashes again.
When I shut down my computer and start all over again, then it works for one or two pages. But then the program starts crashing again.
I uninstalled the program, and reinstalled it. But this does not change anything. Of course I have the latest update.
I do not have this problem with V12.
It is really frustrating, not getting any further with my project.
Can anyone tell me, what I can do about this?

And the last half hour it happens regularly that after using the taskmanager, when trying to reopen the project, the program crashes.

When I make changes on a page with not too much cells/columns on it, then everything works just fine.
But when I try to add a new page, or only change the title of a page, then the program crashes. So with every new page I want to add, I need 4 to 5 times shutting the program down (via task manager) en restart it (and hoping the project will open again), before I (maybe) get lucky...
Hello Ruud,
when you experience this issue does it appears a details tab in the crash report?
If yes can you please copy the content and paste it here?
Please try to export the project as IWZIP file and then import it back and test the imported project to see if you experience the same issue.
Many thanks!

Hi Claudio. There does not appear any tab. The program just hangs itself. And does not go on. The only way to stop it is to use the task manager.
I tried to reinstall the program, and then import the IWZIP file into it. But that did not change anything.
But as the problem is only the last few days, at the same time as I have the problems with the many cells on a page https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/166048 and https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/pt/post/165890 I was thinking if it could be related to this? I already have 15 pages with a lot of cells and a lot of images in it.
I have the same problem, but not so often. Every 5 to 6 times in a day. I have Win 10, and ver. 13.

Well, at this moment it is not possible for me to work with X5 anymore. I can not add or delete any pages and then save the project. The program keeps hanging every time on 98%...

By the way, the same thing happens with very small projects of only 5 pages.
Hello Ruud,
In a new project you experience the same issue?
Could you please make a test with a new project?
try also to repair the .NET Frameworks to see if then the same happens again:
Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off
Clear the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and then click on OK. Clear also the check box for Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6 and then click on OK.
After Windows disables the feature you will need to go back to re-enable Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 and 4.6 and then click ok.
Many thanks!

Hi Claudio,
I tried making a new project. This seems to work just fine. But then there are not much images and text in it. Only a few pages.
I tried what you suggested regarding the .NET Frameworks. But unfortunately, this does not change anything. The problem is still there. I can not add or delete any pages and then save the project. The program still keeps hanging every time on 98%.

After repairing the .NET Frameworks, it looks like the small projects (with only a few pages) do not give any problems anymore with adding and deleting pages and saving the project. But with the big one I still can not work anymore. The problem is still there!

When the new project exists of moren then 10/15 pages, then the same problem occurs. So I really can not go on...
Exactly my problem too, with different projects on different devices. Since the latest update Evo13 doesn't works with W10_64 bit.

I work also with a 64 bit.
Hello Ruud,
Can you please install the new update and test if with this one you still experience the same issue?
Many thanks!

Hello Claudio,
Unfortunately the problem is still there. When I delete or add a page, or even change the title of a page, and then trying to save the project, the program hangs on 98 or 99%. After closing it via the task manager, it gives a problem with opening the project again. 4 out of 5 times it stops at 98 or 99%.
I hope you have another solution for me.
Hello Ruud,
Thank you for the test. The developers are working on this issue.
Can you please try following to see if it helps you toccontinue to work in the meanwhile on the project?
Create a new user in Windows and Login on this user. Start WebSite X5 and open the project and check if so it can be saved by adding a new page.
Many thanks!
