Navigation swipe still active on mobile even when off

With any form of slide show, if navigation is turned off it should also be turned off for mobile devices, is this not possible?
I first asked in April 2017

Hi Esahc.
Yes, I can confirm that the matter is still under examination and discussion by the developers, in order to further improve this functionality so that such issues might once and for all be gone.
Unfortunately I also have to confirm that as of now, no news on this particular topic is available, and I will have to ask you to still be patient about it until further updates are available on the matter
