Installation without end

After installing and running X5 start one time, i can not start it anymore. The program goes to the install procedure After the install ( re-instal, re-re-re re-install etc) the program keeps on doing the install without running.
I am running a laptop with windows 10 on it, 64 bit

Did you download the latest version from here in the helpdesk and installed this one?
If not try, top right next to your name pulldown -> download.

so .... i donloaded it from " my website x5" helppage, switched off my virus prog for 10 min, uninstalled the non starting version, re-installed as administrator, clicked the program icon
and got dissapointed again !!
The *%&$^#^%*&(* programm does install, givees an icon and does not start!!
i did not know i need a degree in computer science for WEBSITE X5, bcaue if i that is the case, i woud never have bought it.
Aand by now i woukd like my money back !!!

oh and about install dir : C:\Program Files\WebSite X5 v17 - Start, the default one
It sounds as though the "icon" you were clicking on at first was the actual install file, not the shortcut to the program! I certainly have not had this happen to me...but there are some programs on your computer which might be stopping it from starting up.
The first is AVG - it has been known to affect X5 at times.
The other one is Lavasoft "Web Companion". This is a sneaky program that often gets installed as part of another set of programs and you may not know it is installed. Use the search function in Windows to see if it is there. That's about all I can suggest - anyone else got ideas?

Never had these probllems, nott seen many in the helpdesk as well.
The once I did see where by the items you mention.
Maybe an easy check is to install on another pc and test there.
X5 is good, i certainly would give it another go before giving up.
