I built a site using X5 Pro v11 on my old Windows 7 based PC. However, I now need to update the site but have a Windows 10 based PC so I installed v11 using Win 7 as the compatibility option.
At first I got a couple of errors and was asked to reinstall the program, which I did. Now it will not open at all. Am I the only person to have this problem or has a solution been found please?

Hello Adrian,
Search for cefsharp.dll in the advanced search (you get it after normal search, and then search in older topics > 1 year.
You will find many solutions like:

Hello Andre.
Well it took me a few hours to go through all the steps proposed but although I'm a little closer, I still cannot get the program to run correctly.
Just to be clear, I reinstalled the .NET frameworks, then installed the latest version of C++ (x86), and added the 2 missing dll's. This resulted in the program launching but the startup screen would never load. After over 5 minutes waiting, I decided to click on the Start button anyway and all my sites were displayed. I even managed to open one but as soon as I attempted to preview it, the program wanted to close.
I tried again using a different site. This time the startup screen did load but on opening a site the program crashed again. Screenshots are attached.
Adrian, this is probably irrelevant, but none of my wx5 installs (v10, v11, etc) on Win10 require compatibility mode.

Esahc, I turned off compatibility mode and opened the program again but as soon as I attempted to preview the site the program crashed again. Thanks for your input anyway.
Adrian,
Is windows also up to date?
It is mostly .netframework or C++ or reinstall as I recall.
Adrian, if you have successfully got WX5 to run but the start screen never displays it sounds like something is blocking WX5. Can you (temporarily) uninstall or totally disable ALL anti-virus/malware/firewall/vpn. You may also like to try removing/disabling internet access to see if WX5 starts more quickly.
(I have assumed you are running everything locally and not across network or USB)
Also, you say you got WX5 to run by clicking start. If you create a new project rather than an existing project, does it crash?
Or check these:

Windows 10 is fully up to date.
All .NET frameworks were reinstalled.
C++ x86 was installed. That's what got it running in my opinion.
The 2 .dll files were also added.
The start screen does display now but existing projects make the program crash.
I attempted creating a new project and it crashed as soon as I selected the default template (screenshot attached).
I do not have the Lavasoft Web companion.
There is no such file as imUpdate.exe.old in the program's directory.
Everything is running locally.
if you have may installed many needed programms try to repair, if not - reinstall windows - it will solve all your problems....
i have win 10 x64 and no problem with thus prg (with run)...i have v16 and v17 installed....

v17 runs fine Aleksey. It's only v11 that is causing trouble.
There is no way I can reinstall Windows. This PC is used to run my company with and I cannot afford to have it down for a few days.
My apologies if you have already tried, but have you tried uninstalling v11 downloading from your profile and trying again since all the support librariess are now in place??
V11 should not be causing issues.

I did try reinstalling v11 but I used the version I last downloaded from my profile a few years ago.
I will try that and get back to you.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you Esahc. So, I did as you said but it still crashes on attempting to edit or preview.
Adrian,
Does it also happen on a new project? Try if this runs good, if it runs good then export the problem project in step5, import this exported project and try again with the importet project.
