*I have a big index-page (box) in xhtlm (own production) in version 8. More than 250 paragraphs with p an end-p with htlmcode tags (links) between them referring to other places on hundreds of pages on the site. (with id etc.) Version 9 can't transport it to its own settings. It is a problem. Perhaps the array of the box is too short if you compare it with the space in a box of version 8. (??) . Making text of it, with htlm-code switched on, goes also wrong. *Pages (boxes) in htlm (own production) don't scroll if you want to select a part that is invisible. One can select the whole htlm-code and a part of the visible script. * Many links with _ are changed in other links with - .This has to be changed by hand ... This can be done. ( Time...) * I have a slideshow that is made in javascript in version 8. I think that it is transmitted into flash in version 9. (I might be wrong..??). Flash can't be played on the i-pad. * Copying text in ansi from own sources to version 9 with its utf-8 is sometimes complicated. Sometimes one has to safe it first as utf-8 in a text-file. Then you can copy it to version 8 .... (I might be wrong...(?)) * While parsing the htlm5-code on the site of w3schools each page generates a minor fault. Some code has no space between it. -Line 46, Column 26: No space between attributes.- -Line 57, Column 26: No space between attributes.- Line 49, Column 26: No space between attributes. (each time column 26) Conclusion: Everything goes well as long as you have NOT done greater parts of htlm of your own. If you have made big parts of htlm things go wrong .... I think I have to stay with version 8 for a while. Perhaps further updates will change things. Best regards, Jacques V

V9 is HTML 5 accompanied by CSS, this is the future of website creation. And it is the code that will be universal throughout the web world. Sounds like you are using an editor for your own HTML??

Tags are being deprecated to make the new HTML 5 language better for us to use and understand. W3Schools is great for learning but don't forget X5 CSS controls the content!!

X5 is flash related and will not play on some mobile devices. I would suggest creating an X5 website with a redirection code to a mobile website should anyone hit it with an iPad etc....

If you're looking at page errors for your website URL.... Try inserting Google.com itself and see how many errors that has!!

I checked the pages  in xhtlm  with the w3 schools parser (no faults) after that I made a htlm5 page with the same code and it checks it as all right... with 2 warnings. They say something about utf8 and that the parser is in a experimental fase. (Things are still in development in htlm5 they say).

Pasted  code in an original x5 website page generates the same warnings plus a space-fault (no opening between two attributes (or something like that).

The space-fault also happens in a x5 website page without my do-ings in it.

According to the story above -  codes I make in htlm5 are all right according to the parser of w3 schools and they fit in a x5 website-page.

PROBLEM: Only the mass of codes I made in version 8, that fitted in a htlm-box, does'nt fit in a htlm-box of version 9. In version 8 some 250 paragraphs (p) with inner code   fit in a htlm-box. In version 9 they are destroyed after transsetting from 8 .. If I paste the 250 in the version-9 box much is deleted.

The level of height-setting of a htlm-box is different in version 9 from version 8 - I might think.. (???)

It looks as if de the "memory-set-up" (height) of a htlm-box in version 9 is smaller than in version 8. I'm no expert. So I can be totally wrong.Undecided

PROBLEM: Scrolling to invisible parts of htlm in a htlm-box and then selecting it is difficult.

PS-

CSS-code of x5 website controls , but one can insert his own css-code for the parts of htlm5-code  one inserted in a htlm-box. (that works very good!)

If one opens the source-code of a page and  safes it in word-pad as an htm-file - it can be opened in opera (for example) and after that you can load it up to w3 schools for checking... Website X5 htlm-5 code in my site-setup looks all right.. Only for that little space-fault..Cool

Best regards,

Jacques v

You can better search  in the search window above (What are you searching for) for htlm instead of htm. Then you can see an interactive post with Incomedia about this matter.  Accidentelly this starting post is the same ... Something went wrong when I put in some htlm-code in the first message. The lay-out was gone ... I had to restore things ..

Therefore this double message at the start- htm insted of htlm
