Cannot Update  en

When I tried to update websitex5 v10.0.4.28 to 10.0.6.31 on my laptop i get the following message "Error while updating: 406" Can you perhaps me. O/S Windows7 Home Premium Service pack 1"

Hi Giel,

This error message usually means that your antivirus or firewall is blocking the connection to the Incomedia update server.

Here are a few things you can try to get around the issue:

  • Temporarily disable your antivirus software and/or firewall, and try updating again
  • Reboot your PC and navigate to the following file on your computer...  Program Files/WebSite X5 v10 - Evolution/imUpdate.exe  -  right-click on this file and select 'Run as administrator'
  • Download the latest version of the program (which incorporates the 10.0.6.31 update) by visiting the 'Download' section of your 'Profile' (drop-down menu to the top-right of this screen)  -  once downloaded reboot your PC, make sure Website X5 remains closed after restart, and install the updated program by right-clicking on the downloaded file and selecting 'Run as administrator'  -  it's OK to install the update directly over your existing version 10 in this way, and you won't lose any data as a result
