How can I split the cell in a table horizontally because the split cell button split the cell only vertically?

That's not possible, I checked the help file it says:
Merge Cells - Split Cells
These options merge the selected adjacent cells to form a single cell, or they split the selected cell vertically to create two cells horizontally adjacent.
You can offcource workaround it but this will requere some copying and create a new line...
