Create albums in photo gallery

I have separate groupings of photos that I want to display in a photo gallery format. Can I create thumbnails for the different albums on the same page as the photo gallery or do I create album thumbnails on one page that links to separate sub-menu pages?

You can do one or the other option, it's both possible.
But if you set them on the same page the I don't think a seperate picture is needed.
if you want to use it then I would suggest to create 1 page with the pictures and seperate page for every group, then make these seperate page hidden and link to it from the page with the pictures and make the link as a pop up.
But just create it and test if you don't like it change it to what you would like.
Just keep in mind if you set them all on 1 page that the page could get slow loading time if the pictures are big in size and many in numbers.
Keep pictures with max 1025 width and if you have over 40 in 1 group I suggest to use seperate pages. So it depend a little on what you also like and want. Just keep an eye out for loading times.
