Holger, to paste an image here in this helpcentre editor, simply open the image, copy to clipboard (CTRL C) and then paste into the editor (CTRL V). you may wish to use something like irfanview (free) to crop images like PRTSCRN. You can also simply browse to your image and attach it if it is saved on your PC.

I have a number of projects that I need to work on different PC's. I find if I export to iwzip and then import onto the 2nd PC I do not have an issue, all images and files are within the project. I can even extract most images by right clicking and opening the source location (which will not be the original stored location).

Lastly, the simplest way for you to find your older posts on this site is to click on your profile (top right) and then look in Open Topics and Commented topics.

As you, I too have the same successfull experience in earlier versions of X5 but in the latest v14 that does not work ... for me

Holger, I am sorry I have no idea (I have never used it). However, if loadiing an image off your PC it appears you should be using the icon to the right of the highlighted icon.

Perhaps someone else can advise.

where these taken from an external drive?

The function inset an image here on the Help Center is meant in case you want to add an image which is already online and you need to enter the URL in the source field.
