The same thing happens to me, I hope there is a quick solution.

I forgot to say I have tried all compatibility in properties I have uninstalled the program and removed all traces of it then installed it even ran my pc in safe mode still doing it,

Ricky, can you try a full update again (just in case there was an issue with the first update)

Click on your profile, select download, download 16.1.1 and run it.

Thanks Esahc but no this dosent seem to work i can open it up but when i seem to add ay an image or text then do a preview or save it the whole thing freezes any ideas.

Also after updating to v16 it seems to start very slow compared to v15

Ricky - sadly I have no answers, only questions. With luck one of them may point us in the direction of the answer.

If you start a new project does the problem exist?

Is this issue project specific? If it is only one specific upgraded project, can you go to step5 export, export project (or better still, run optimiser https://www.websitex5.com/en/utility.html). Once the iwzip is created, import it and test (this will not overwrite the existing project).

You have run safe mode so hopefully that rules out anti-virus, firewall, vpn, etc, interference, but are you running the project locally (not via USB or network), and you aren't running any cloud of backup sync?

Since you are operating on an SSD you have checked you have plenty of space? Do you ever clear out temporary files, leftover cache files, etc? If not, download and run (the free) CCLEANER - it can't hurt (although I personally stop it wiping browser history).

what he said is to run revo uninstaller to completly remove x5 restart pc and install and it worked

there must have been something left over from just uninstalling it thanks to all

Well i did mark this as fixed but no  maybe i was to quick to end this post, so after a while i thought it was fixed it progresivly got worse "Again" pulling my hair out here

I gave up for a while and then started last week using X5 V16 again it starts very slow and when i open a project and add lets just a text box and then go and preview it well then it freezes i have to shut it down and open it again then adding a text box and go to save the project it freezes I am running windows 10Pro intel i7, 16.0 GB Ram with SSD 

below is what i have done

Restarted the program

uninstalled using windows and installed it

uninstalled it using revo uninstaller "had a lot of left over stuff it worked for a while" then installed it

run it under windows safe mode 

created another user on my pc logged in to this user and ran it 

I have also comunicated with Microsoft for the last two days i sent them a screeshot of some log file thingy

and they come back and said that some times the "CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe" can cause this problem and sometimes this file can be injected with a virus so i scanned the pc with every recomended anti-virus program paid and free and only come up with with a few pups nothing bad ??

the only thing i can now think of doing "but dont want to" is to reset or reinstall windows 

can someone please help 

Also forgot to add i have run it under combatability with administrator on and off 

aslo this program never used so much mem why? see attached

i just all the above you mentioned and still the same i have also installed x5 on another pc that is new and has all the updates and drivers but x5 still freezes any ideas

X5 still freezes - on new PC, new install, new project???

Have you tried turning off one-drive?

Once WX5 is loaded, if you totally disconnect the network whilst working is it stable on either PC?

What a nightmare :-(       (you have my sympathies)

you can also try to remove all C ++ and install them all.

We also have the same problem with one of our main websites which is very unfortunate because of the Christmas season. Is there any fixes yet? Or will we have the same amount of hair as Ricky left?

Just as I was writing and leaving the program to do the "hourglass" for an hour, it revived! Now we can make changes... how is this?! Testing now...

thanks everyone but it still freezes i have tried a new project and tied to replicat the site all is good until i start adding a number of things like text image etc if i add one or two it is ok.

its like it gets overloaded?

even when you work on the site, it always tries not to have empty rows and columns with lots of cells. Because it could slow down some processes.

Hi - same problem !!!  Freezes constant when trying to work on the Home site. Its actually the "longest" Page and the Problem starts about at row 13. The other pages work without any problem.  Last time I also left the PC "working" and it revived after one hour!

I really can´t work at the moment but have to finish the Website - need immedatley a solution from the company!

Could the solution possibly be as simple as this?
