Using Stripe in the shop

I want to use Stripe as my payment mechanism. What is the specific html code that I should load if I am hosting my website on a Windows server which has PHP, ASP, and ASP.Net available? I used verbatim the HTML code from Stripe's website and copied it into the HTML section for "Pay," but I get a "Generic error" when the trying to process an order online. This generic error message occurs after I hit the "Buy Now" button.

Use Payment type-Custom Code in the Payment Mode window and enter ORDER _ NO and PRICE in the designated locations in their payment provider's code.

I still get a "generic error" after selecting the buy button. Where should "ORDER_NO" go? Also, I signed up for Amazon Pay. I tried that payment method and got the same "generic error." I made sure I was using HTTPS for all transactons. Any ideas I can try?
PS. This is really a good program, but it's a shame that the ecommerce portion is so difficult.
Does the error message come within their homepage or at the payment processor?
