How to add a special shipping method

What do you suggest would be the best solutuion to add a special method to the shopping cart? There is a popular service in my coutry that provides relatively cheap shipping. They ship parcels to their picking points (there are thousands of them). The thing is that my customer is obliged to select their picking point. So far, I have a devoted field in the Customer details - Order Form. But this solution is not very handy.
It would be perfect to have a possibility to open the picking points list, the customer selects one and this information is inserted into the database. I know anyway there would be some programming necessary. The problem is there is no place for inserting a html code object into the shopping cart page, unlike with ordinary pages. The same would help a lot with customized payment methods.
What would you suggest? Thank you!
Hello.At the moment, as far as I know, there is no such possibility in the program.You can add a separate field to enter the number of the dispensing point.And that's all.
I will add to the question, where do I add a separate field? It would be useful if you could put a note there, for example. for example where the customer would pick up the shipment .......

Thank you for the interesting hint and great idea of the field usage! The mondialrelay.fr selector returns the selected picking point automatically to the field?
It looks like the delivery service I want to use provides a differently working selector and some workaround will be needed, but anyway this is likely to be a great step towards the solution.

No. You need to do a copy/paste into the field.
