In the product discount section after deleting the discount price you must uncheck the voice

Ok so I can't leave the the discount there but have the enable discount box unchecked

If you want you can leave the discount in product but to cancel the discount voice in your front page you must uncheck

I did that but was still coming up with the 10% discount off the normal price when it got added to the shopping cart

I see your page in the right way without discount price. I have tried to put the "Day Item" in my cart and the total is right. Try to refresh your browser cache with CTRL + F5.

for example windows 7 home premium, I added a discount of 10% but left the enable discount box unchecked and exported to the server but is still taking 10% off in the shopping basket

I have checked the page you will done for sure if you delete the discount and uncheck the discount voice. I have tried in my website and it works

strange it dont want to work this end, is it possible to send me a screenshot when you add windows 7 home premium to the cart, I have the box unchecked but is still taking the 10% off in the cart, I am going to delete the discount and have the box unchecked and do it that way

I don't get it to be honest how it works on yours and not mine, the price it should be is £99.99 and when I add it to the cart its saying £89.99
