Failing hard drive replaced on PC. X5 now thinks it's a trial version

Following an imminent hard drive failure, I sent the PC to a specialist to recover the disk as a disk image. They then restored this to a new hard drive & all seemed well.
It was only when I wanted to use my full copy of X5 evolution 8 to modify my site and upload it, that the message of " This feature is not available in the Trail version...."
My question : is the license linked to the hardware ? How do I re-associate my software to the new hard drive?

yes, depend on generated key with software, you will receive unlock code.
you need to register your product again.

How do I go about re-registering the product, once it is already installed on the PC ?
(sorry if this sounds dense !!)
download the source of your v8 from your profile here (at the top, next to the flag, choose download). then remove the old one, restart your computer and install it again, it will ask for unluck key, I think you would send the key then you will receive a unlock key via email, sorry but I can not remember that process fully because its been such a long time that I used v8.
also if you go to your profile, My Licences, you would be able to see the codes and unlock codes you have so far, so if one of the codes was the same as what new instalation shows, you can use that unlock code.

just enter the code they sent when you bought the program, i had the same problem
