Is there an option to connect the calendar to see the free dates for renting an apartment?
I can make a link to an *.xls file. Is there an other option that customers of our website: www. alteaonthebeach.com can see the free dates for renting an apartment of our websitem? For instance you can see it by HomeAway or Airbnb?
Already thank you. Elizabeth M. L

Hello Elizabeth,
You can use the optional object "Full Calendar" to show a calendar on your website:
https://answers.websitex5.com/objects/livepreview/30a2d637-1eb5-47a3-a13e-b6583a31d9
You will need to import an ics or ical file containing your calendar which will be then displayed on the website.
An xls file will require to open excel to see it and it's better to use a calendar.
Many thanks!

Hello Claudio,
Sorry for the late reaction. How can I insert the optional object "Full Calendar".
How can I import an ics or ical file. I know how to make a calendar in Excel and link it.
I want to do it more simpel, also to give someone else the right to change the calendar.
It is for the website www.alteaonthebeach.com (made with webSite X5 version 11. If people want to rent an apartment that the can see which are the free dates.
If the calendar is an extra option I have tt buy and it make this easier it is OK.
Kind regards, Elizabeth M. Lever
Hello Elizabeth
Allow me to suggest the LuxCal calendar. It is completely free - it is loaded with functionality and it is easy to install and integrate with Website X5.
You can see a testsite here : http://www.bramminginfo.dk/testkal/index.php?lc&cP=9
You can click on the links e.g. Timianvej 1 and then You are on :
http://www.bramminginfo.dk/cottages/timianvej-1,-grerup.html
This is a site for Timianvej 1 ( could be a cottage or an apartment ). The calendar You see here, is the "same" calendar as You saw before - but here only for Timianvej 1.
Again - this is only a testsite.
You can see a calendar "in production" here : http://www.bramming-billard.dk/turneringskalender.html
Please select ( via the date picker field ) the 20.01.2016. The new tournament plan have not been put in yet. Try to hover over the event on 23.01.2016. You can also click on the links in the event e.g the 19.01.2016.
The same calendar can be seen in matrix view here : http://www.bramming-billard.dk/holdkalender.html
In this calendar the days are not colored as in the other matrix view. I think You will use the day coloring.
You can see the calendars homepage here : http://www.luxsoft.eu/
The calendar can be used for bookings. You can set iy up so no overlap is allowed. The calendar can send mails, You can have documents and images attached to an event, and You can allow users to selfregistrate and eventually set it up, so You have to ( as manager ) to approve events. You can make userdefined help texts and... and... You can see a summary here : http://www.luxsoft.eu/index.php?pge=dtail
If You are interested, I can supply You with much more information about the calendar.
Hope You can use this information.
Kind regards
John

Has anyone even been able to get the full calendar object to actually work? If so, then actually show proof as to how you got it to work and your step by step process of doing so. It would be nice if people would have a tutorial as to what to do to your .ics and iCal files before implementing them into that full calendar. I've tried everything and still cant get any of my ics and iCal files to show up or show up correctly.
I did a bad investment - times ago I invested in the "full calendar".
I managed to get the "full calendar" up and running, but found out it was of no use.
I was very very very disappointed. It is not a calendar - it is a "dead" calendar that can "show" an ics file. I then used the free google calendar which was much better, and now I am using the LuxCal calendar which are much better than any other calendar I have seen.
I can only say - try the LuxCal calendar. ( see my former post )
It will be perfect as a booking calendar to show awailable dates - and it can be used for a lot of other things. And again - it is totally free.
