Excel chart pdf display on smartphone
Autor: Graham O.Hi again
Having now successfully inserted a pdf file into my web site, I've spotted an issue when viewing on a mobile phone. The file is an Excel spreadsheet.
So far I've only been actually creating the site on my desktop and have viewed it on my laptop and on both devices all is well.
Yesterday I viewed it on my smartphone and the spreadsheet is not displaying properly. Only 2 columns display in portrait orientation and 2.5 columns in landscape orientation. It actually has 5 columns. No scroll bars appear on the phone.
I have a text pdf on another page that is also not showing the complete width.
The Excel pdf is the annual programme of my club so needs each cell to have a description in it and the text pdf is a newsletter that consists of several pages. Both of these files display well on my desktop and laptop. My iPad will show 4 and a bit Excel columns in portrait and all 5 OK in landscape, and all of the width of the newsletter text in either orientation, so it is just the iPhone that is having the issue. I'm guessing it is a resolution issue, but the site is responsive so surely it should work on any device?
Hello Graham O.,
Can you please write me the link to the page you have the pdf file so I can see on what it depends?
Many thanks!

Hi Claudio
Not sure if this is what you want, but here is the url of one of the pages:
http://www.lutondunstablepc.org/programme-1.html
If you want a link to my project, I'm not sure how to do this.
Hello Graham,
it's depends if the file .pdf is supports of the device. In browser the acrobar reader can open these file, you can install acrobat reader or another reader in your device.

Thanks for this Riccardo. I was not concerned about viewing my site myself, but more for visitors who will not be able to see the full spreadsheet. Also I read that if the site cannot be displayed on mobile devices it will be downgraded in any Google search results.
Hello Graham,
Your site is perfectly shown on mobile devices since you are using the responsive functionalities.
About the pdf files this depends on the devices which requires to have the plugin to see the pdf files and it cannot be controlled from your website but needs to be present on the users device.
Many thanks!
