I have looked through the guides and forum, but I am struggling to find an answer. I need to build a club website and have a facilty for the Club Secretary ( who will enter 'his' page via a username and password). to upload the monthly newsletter and any other documents that the members may need.
Some how I need to incorporate a 'File Upload' facility in the Secretarys page. And once uploaded onto the server be listed on a seperate page for members to click and download from.
Anyone any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance

Ian, since WX5 does not currently have this ability, you could use either google drive or dropbox to create a space where files could be uploaded, downloaded or simply read.
If your membership is small and trusted, a single gmail/google account to which everyone knows the username and password would work (15gig free). I believe dropbox (2gig free) also has the ability to set folders as readonly, you could have one username and password everyone could access as read only and another to allow document upload into that folder.
I have never used this feasture in anger, but I did do a quick test by just placing the words "Club Docs" in a text box and adding the link https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive and selecting the link to open in a new window.

Hello Ian
Another possibility is to use a tool like the LuxCal calendar. In here You can have events, and to each event You can attach one or more files. It allows jpg, png, gif, PDF and mp4 files to be uploaded.
You can try Yourself in the demo site where You can input data ( beware that the testdata is renewed approx. every hour ).
You can click on an event and then on this event, attach one or more files. The files can afterwards be seen by clicking on the link. You can use the calendar as a calendar or only as a news display if You want. The calendar have login options, and can be set to public acces or only for logged in. Users can have different permissions ( file upload, views and much more ) via usergroups.
You can try a demo here : http://www.luxsoft.eu/index.php?pge=demos
You can see a very smart way to present data here : http://www.luxsoft.eu/index.php?pge=demos
And You can see how I myself use the canendar for a billard club : http://www.luxsoft.eu/index.php?pge=demos
And for a museum : http://www.brammingegnsmuseum.dk/
If You have Your website at one.com, there is the obvious solution to use their blog. There You have the possibility to upload text with attached files as pictures or pdf files. It is a matter of what permissions You give a user and if the viewing should be public. You can see an example here : http://turneringsnyt.bramming-billard.dk/#home
You could also on the internet find examples how to make an upload function. You could have that on a locked page, and then You should have a script for showing files in a directory. You could have this on another restricted page.
But I would think that the calendar will be the best.
So there are : Google , calendar, hosting provider or upload script. Only You can decide what will be best for You.
Kind regards
Schwartz
