Besides editing page content, my client wants to update the product items and discount coupon codes for the site and I was under the impression that this could be accomplished with the PRO version.
I do not see much details in the manual regarding this feature. Is there any more documentation?
Thanks

Hello Terence
The X5 software does NOT have the possibility to let a client edit products.
Desipite the name PROFESSIONAL, the software require the products to be maintained via the software.
It is not possible for you, to produce a site for a customer that want e-business. I really do not understand why the product items is NOT in a database. At least they could have used the SqLite - but using a MySQL database would be a good idea.
You could use OpenCart : https://www.opencart.com/
This is really good free software. Here the products and coupon codes and many other things, is in a database.
You could integrate it in X5 - via links and/or via iframes.

Hi John; I thought this was a good platform but I see too many "holes" in the product features and I am dissappointed. The fact that you have to setup a database implied that products would be stored in it - this is a real let down.
Thanks for the response.

Here are my clients comments .... not good after spending on the PRO version.
What type site did we create here……..we cannot easily change prices, we cannot apply discounts…..these features that should be there!!! It may not be of issue but the prices will definitely change one we learn about freight costs etc…..and I am a little afraid of the complexity for a client who want to buy….it has to be easy and intuitive for when the “dude” is ready as these are smaller companies that when its time it is time, so to speak and they cannot call me to get it done……
John S... are there any tips on how to integrate open cart with X5?
Thanks
Hello Terence
There are several ways you can do that. You can have a level-item in the menu, where You for example have the name "Shopping" and a link that directs to the OpenCart-system. ( You could have the OpenCart in a subfolder ) This is the simplest solution.
Another way is to have the system "integrated" in the X5 via iframes. You can see an example of a system ( The ADMIDIO member system ) that is integrated in X5 here : http://c4dshow.com
The iframe integration can be seen here : http://c4dshow.com/3d-figuren.html - you choose one of the items in the left-menu and then you will see an iframe ( in fact you will see two ).
I use the iframe with the ADMIDIO system to present objects and when clicking an image/thumbnail I show a bigger image in another iframe on the page.
