Problems after installing Evolution v14.0.2.1  en

I've bought Evolution v14 and it imported my v10 website quite well. Even the graphic template seemed to be imported without a problem this time. However, there are a few problems that need to be resolved as soon as possible before publishing my site with this version.

  1. The software tries to update to 14.0.4.3 after installing the new fresh version 14.0.2.1. Again, just as with previous versions, it wasn't possible…. As I remember the solution last time was that you sent me the update as separate file. That worked, but wasn't the solution to the problem, so it seems. Please solve this problem.

  2. When opening the imported project there is the message that some fonts used (the font Century Gothic) are not connected or attached to the project and that they are replaced by the standard font of the template. I cannot find a way to select this font to use it. There are just a few fonts I can choose from, while there are lots of fonts installed in my computer. Why can't I use them? And how to incorporate a font in a template?

  3. When I tried to edit a text in the footer of my template, it wasn't possible. It is no text-object any more, but instead it's a graphic object. So I'm not able to edit the text. When creating a replacement text, the layout is not what I choose.

  4. Where could the menu and menu settings be found? It should be in the template somewhere, but apparantly that was lost in conversion. Where would the menuoptions to be set?

So I didn't publish  the website converted to v14 yet. I want to have solved all problems before using it in a live situation.

Thanks for your answers.

Hello P.R.

Read the conversion manuals for all changes:

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/de/post/154023

These answer a lot of your questions.

1. Here in x5 you can add the latest full version, goto your profile, top right next to your name -> download

2. fonts can now be more easily added, just go to a font selection (in a text object for instance) then slide to the buttom to add through google fonts immidiatly every where in the project or the old fashion way is there as well.

3. some items/ objects have changed to keep things working they have been converted to pictures, if you want to edit, remove picture and add correct object, then use that item to add the information you want.

4. the menu is an object know and can be used multiple times (this is a request from a lot of users to change it and Incomedia have done this)

See also the conversion manual.

It is probably in the template or header as an object! Also there are picture used to create a good transformation, so if you want to change this, remove pictures and start using what you want from there.

Goodluck.
