After updating my website via v12 website x5 I now appear to have the old version and new on the internet and it depends on how I access(directly or a search engine) as to which one I get.
can anyone shed some light please? Thanks.

Hello Tracey
This is a question on using the domain with or without the www.
Using : http://www.acudox.com/index.html
or : http://acudox.com/index.html
could cause different results.
You could use a canonical or a permanent redirect.
Read something here : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Basics_of_HTTP/Choosing_between_www_and_non-www_URLs
Also see this : https://www.searchenginejournal.com/choose-canonical-vs-301-redirect/174904/
Hope you are helped by this.
Tracey, John is probably right, but could it also be a simple case of needing to flush the website browser (ctrl+f5)
Hello again Tracey
Sorry - sometimes I forget the most basic.
Esahc is right - first you should see if it is the browsers cache that causes you trouble.
It can also be the case that you still have older html files on your server where you are directed too by a searchengine. Do a full upload, once connected to you webserver remove all files from the server folder, use the red cross on top in x5. Then do the full upload and check again. And offcource if you are online press F5 to refresh
Goodluck.
+1
& of course there could be an index.html as well as index.php :-)
Yes, that is what I thought.
